AN is abandoning GW1? Of course it is. "They" 've already got the money they wanted and the falling income wouldn't compensate the effort of "refreshing" GW1. Time for all to do the same. The time of GW1 is over.

IMHO that's half of the problem here. We don't FEEL anything is happening. Sure we're busy grinding our way to GWAMM and full HoMs (or we're not) and there's always a promise of a big bang update on UB. There was a time when someone from Anet would come here and say something positive, but it may attract bad comments and flames like bees around honey. So in a sense we had it coming, time has changed. I'm sure new info on GW2 will revigorate our relationship with Anet.
We'll all be condemned to discuss on wiki, with its ugly tabulated comments interface (look at today's Gaile first post on her talk page, it looks like it's been crushed on the right border of the page) and links pointing in all directions Nostalgia FTW.

Absolutely. I totally agree with you. It's hard not to have doom and gloom topics when we don't get anyone telling us about what's going on.

Well, ANet doesn't have to release new content to support/continue to profit from Guild Wars. Things like holding events (GWWC) are just as good to show the company is still behind the game, which, if good, doesn't need to be constantly changed.
If the game is well designed, it will last without constant new content on merits of its own play-value. Word just needs to be kept going around about it to encourage new players to constantly pick it up. That would be enough to show ANet is with the game.
The issue with all that is it relies on ANet getting the game into a state where there are no giant problems with it, and they've introduced more than they've fixed since Prophecies.

Saying I am, or anyone is, wrong is your inability to opine outside your little box, or accept that others have a different opinion.
It comes down to this: Learn to accept the life cycle of a computer game - the life cycle of a gaming company, the life cycle of your attention span, and the life cycle of your LIFE all intersect in a subset which is the game life cycle. Nothing is ever seperate, or to blame.

My claims are not based on opinion. You are just one of those carebears who blatantly follow Anet and say "Yes, exactly, you are correct! Great work Anet!" without even thinking about it. Notice how things have become slow. Weekly to monthly updates. If you couldn't agree with the first thing then you really are beyond convincing. Why? How aren't they abandoning the game by first having weekly updates for as long as I have played, turning to monthly updates, especially when certain aspects of the game have remained stagnant? No, not just PvE.
You can say everything is an opinion if you want, but it doesn't mean people should take your word for it.

Arena Net has abandoned us a long time ago....
November 2008 Called They Want their post back.
The last update to this game was the bonus mission pack which was about 2 hours worth of content if you ate dinner and watched tv in between the missions

While this is rather agreed, it's still rather funny to see them. I say that the best thing, is still to go with the flow. Plus, doomsday (abandonment of the higher powers) theories are just all around funny as it is. I agree that we actually need a better PR person that will, idk, maybe possibly, communicate with us, that might cheer things up a bit, we can hope and pray for new content, though i fear it shall never occur, anets already got our money for gw1, now it's time to focus on two, and as avarre said, "ArenaNet does not do this, and instead tries to give four million simultaneous handjobs to every player type in existence", hopefully they don't do this with gw2, but i'm not holding my breath... Cheers buddy, you're one of the few people on guru whose views i actually agree with.

you know programing... the way they put the ideas into the game.
so ya people are "working" on it but with only 1 programmer do you all really expect that big of change anytime soon?
to all the people saying Anet abandoned gw1 all together , is that why they still keep the servers up, is that why thy are working on a massive skill update, is that why they are bothering to change the hall of monuments?
